Three SSI dinners are scheduled for 6:00--8:00pm at the ROB (Building #48) patio the followign dates:

Poster Social
Light refrenshments will be served during the poster social session(s) 6:00--7:00pm at the SUSB (Build #53) lobby on Wednesday Aug/14, and possibly also Tuesday Aug/20 if poster abstracts require two separate sessions to display.

SSI Soccer Game and IR2 Tour
Wednesday, August 21, 2019 has a joint event of SSI vs SLAC soccer club soccer game, in conjunction with a tour to IR2 (LZ test stand and LSST clean room)
- IR2 Tour (5:15--5:45pm): Tour include LSST camera construction clean room, LZ Xenon test platform, and LAr R&D platform. Please follow the map below to find your own way to IR2 to meet at the gathering point (the entrance road slopes down towards IR2) at 5:00pm sharp. IR2 building is a Controlled Area so that you need to signup online (current list) before 5pm on Aug/19 to join the tour.
- Soccer game (6:00-7:30pm), SLAC Arrillaga Recreation Center soccer field (see map below). This is a traditional event of SSI vs SLAC Soccer club with a post game BBQ hosted by the SLAC soccer club. Everyone is welcome to play or cheer. Please sign up to the soccer game online (current list) before 5pm on Aug/19. Players need to sign a release form required by the Arrillage Center at the SSI registration desk.
- During these events you can also take a walk on the Hill vista trail in the map below to go to the Vista point where you can get a straight view of the two mile linear accelerator, the Research Yard with LCLS beam line and End Station A where the deep inelastic scatter experiment in 1970 discovered the quark/parton inside nucleon. You can also see the old SPEAR ring (now Stanford Syncrhtron Radiation Lab - SSRL) which hosted the e+e- experiment MK-I that discovered charm quark and tau lepton in 1974/1976.
